The aftermath of Ondoy.

A month's worth of rain came down in one day, a lot of people are stranded with nothing to eat or drink. Thousands lost their homes and basically everything they own. If you can't volunteer or donate, prayers would be the next best thing that you can offer. I cry at what I see on television and the internet. So please. If you're in the Philippines, please donate, the following picture will show you how.

Our own village was flooded, the street behind our chapel had waist-deep floods but ours was spared, my Dad said the Lord literally saved  us. At Mass yesterday, a group told the story of how they tried to save people from drowning, how much they wanted to reach out and hold the hands of children so they wouldn't be taken by the raging waters. And at how they failed.  If you're in the US and would like to donate 1-800-435-7669 is the number to the American Red Cross.

On why I was MIA.

I haven't been updating for the longest time because Twitter and Plurk killed my ability to write complete entries. But I'm down with yet another viral infection, so why don't we give LJ another shot.

Let's start with work. I'm currently in jeopardy, the company has been very strict since we changed clients and I haven't been passing my scorecard. I don't know what's wrong, I've been doing the same thing that I did last year (when I last excelled) but I just can't seem to pass. I haven't signed it yet but my team lead told me that I'm currently on final written warning, one more failed scorecard and I'm out. My stats are excellent this month, but if I get really bad stats in July, I'll be on the lookout for other options. My Dad wants me to finish my degree in UP Diliman, my Mom wants me to take driving lessons, I want to continue working, with all these bills to pay, I CANNOT afford to not work. Maybe I should just renew my visa and leave with J and never come back.

J and I haven't been through any bumps lately. Everything's wonderful. We're four months shy from our third year anniversary. I may have posted this before but my dad has asked me the magic question, "So, when are you guys getting married?" The answer is, we don't know yet, we want to be able to give each other everything we want before we go ahead and take the plunge. I hope it's soon, because I want kids! I always go "Awww!" whenever I see cute kids, it's not a secret that I'll be turning the big 3-0 next year. Ang tanda ko na.  Haha. In God's time everything will fall into place. :)

My family's still the good old Brady Bunch. I love that I have weekends off because I get to join them at the mall, we have almost weekly movie sessions now. I've seen The Taking of Pelham 123 and Terminator, I believe we'll be in Gateway this Saturday to watch Transformers. My parents and lola have been very supportive of me, specially with my finances, since I got into a major credit card snag early this month. Everything's been taken cared of and I'm very thankful.

So, how have your lives been?

I was filling out one of them year-end surveys when I suddenly stopped, aside from me not having any interesting answers I was also too lazy and not feeling very New Year-ish.

Last night, my family was together, but it wasn't the same. Was it the lack of fireworks? Was it because not everyone from Batangas came home for the Holidays? I bought them cake from Chocolat for dessert, we proceeded to eat it but they had nothing good to say about it, they even told me to buy something else next time. My brother took a slice but didn't finish it off. Happy New Year, Ate.

Or is it because this might be the last New Year's Eve I'll be spending with them. With me moving to the States middle of next year with J. I HAVE NO IDEA.

With all my reklamo aside, I thank the Lord for making us survive 2008. For all the blessings, not making me money-less even if I was always in debt, doctors detected health problems with my Dad and Lola but they're VERY strong and "healthy." I have nothing more to ask for with regards to my love life, everything is going so well, I'm in good terms with all of his relatives. This would be my last, I know and feel that. Thank you po, Lord for everything and I'm sorry for my shortcomings, I'll try my best to be better this year, all things wise.

Wow.
